bow making mentorship - 08/11/2007

We have been requested by several people to organise a bow-making course that would stretch over several weeks / months time. We are keen to see if such a course would indeed be possible. The idea is to meet up with the course-participants once a week for roughly 10 weeks. These meetings would have to take place in or near Belfast. and would most likely be held after 6 o'clock in the evening. If there are enough participants, then I will start this course in middle November or December running into 2008. Turkish Wilderness -

Together with Dragoman (Located in Kas, Turkey) we now offer a series of courses in Turkey. These courses take place mainly around the Lycian region in the province of Antalya (Southern Turkey)

The whole course consists of three sessions, each lasting around 4 or 5 days.
The first session teaches the basics of bushcraft in a moderate landscape. We live in tents, and have a day sheltter available.
The second course is set in a more remote landscape, and the skills covered reflect this. This course is a transition between the way of modern living and wilderness living without equipment. Participants are expected to (Under supervision of a specialist.) help forage for wild foods, and will sleep in a self constructed shelter. More primitive, self-made tools and utilities will be used.
The third session is full wilderness living. Participants will move into a remote wilderness with just the clothes on our backs and together we will live completely wild without any modern equipment or conveniences. Participants will be allowed to bring one item of choice, be it a knife or a packet of nuts. All three courses are taught with experts in the field, ensuring you can get the most out of the experience.

Although it is recommended to take all three courses, it is possible (Depending on your experience) to attend only one or two of the sessions. The sessions will include people from all over the world, not exceeding 15 participants. Phone us for more information, dates and costs.
